About Evelien

My mission is to teach you to understand the language of your body.

I am Evelien van Pelt. Founder and developer of The Soul-Body Method.

My whole life revolves around one question: how does a body function at its best, and why does that come easily to one person and only through trial and error for another? That question has led me through elite sport, modelling, acting, travels around the world, studies of the nervous system, natural medicine, Human Design and the Primary Health System. Eventually all those paths came together in one method.

"You are your own authority. I help you remember what your body always already knew."

My background

My name is Evelien van Pelt. I am the founder and developer of The Soul-Body Method.

My whole life I have been fascinated by the body. What it can do, how it recovers, why it seems to serve some people effortlessly and why others constantly struggle with energy, trust and balance. That fascination began long before I ever heard the term Human Design.

My experience as a professional athlete

At a young age I started my bodybuilding career, which eventually grew into a professional sports career with participation in many competitions. For years I trained intensively, optimised my nutrition and lifestyle, and discovered how a body performs, recovers and adapts under pressure.

Those years laid the foundation for my fascination with the human body. At the same time I noticed that discipline, training and nutrition do not explain everything. Why does one person thrive on a certain approach, while that same approach simply does not work for someone else?

That question never left me, and it marked the beginning of my search for the unique blueprint of every person. Eventually that search led to the development of The Soul-Body Method.

My work as a model and actress

During and after my sports career I worked as a model and actress. In that world your body is constantly in the spotlight. It is judged, photographed and seen as part of your work. I experienced what it is like to have a body that has to meet expectations, while on the inside you are not always in balance.

That experience made me aware of the tension between how a body looks on the outside and how it truly feels on the inside. It brought me a fundamental question: how do you live from a body that truly fits you, instead of constantly meeting expectations from the outside?

My travels and the influence of different cultures

My travels brought me into contact with very different ways of looking at the body, health and consciousness. From Eastern insights on energy and rhythm to the wisdom of indigenous traditions in Africa and South America, where the connection between people, nature and community is still a natural part of life. At the same time I studied Western physiology and modern health insights. I discovered that every culture holds a valuable piece of the puzzle, but that no single approach on its own shows the full picture.

Slowly the desire grew in me to bring these insights together, in a practical method that helps people reconnect with their own body and discover what truly fits them.

My search for the unique blueprint of the human being

After my sports career I immersed myself in everything that shapes the body: nutrition, physiology, the nervous system, consciousness, breathing, stillness, natural medicine and various forms of bodywork. My search took me through a wide range of disciplines, but the same question kept returning: why does what heals one person not work for another?

When I discovered Human Design and the Primary Health System, the pieces fell into place. Here I found a deep mechanical layer that gives insight into how every body is naturally designed to function. It confirmed what I had already seen in practice for years: not everyone is made to eat, train, work, recover or make decisions the same way. Every person has a unique blueprint.

My practice of Kriya Yoga and other consciousness traditions also deepened my experience of the connection between body, breath, energy and consciousness. Together with my practical experience, my elite sport background and my knowledge of Human Design and the Primary Health System, this grew into one integrated vision.

How The Soul-Body Method came to be

The Soul-Body Method did not come from an idea. It grew out of years of practical experience, thousands of analyses and guiding more than 1700 people. It is the coming together of everything I have learned as an athlete, as a performer, as a traveller, as a student of the body, and as a practitioner of Human Design and the Primary Health System.

The goal is not to become someone else. The goal is to discover who you have always been. Once you understand how your body is designed to function, calm arises. Trust follows. And from that moment you no longer need to force yourself.

My mission

What once began as a personal fascination with the body, the soul and the unique blueprint, has grown into my life's work. My mission is to help people discover how their body is naturally designed, so they can learn to trust their own mechanics again. The Soul-Body Method grew out of that conviction.

My life outside work

Outside my work I am above all a partner, mother and bonus mom. Together with my husband Gertjan, my wonderful daughter and bonus son, I enjoy life, nature, travel and the small moments that truly matter. My family reminds me every day what health is ultimately about: not perfection, but being present, feeling connected and living in line with who you truly are.
